UKSHA Board

Board of Directors: As with any corporation, UKSHA is governed by a board of directors. The board consists of up to ten non-resident members, and one resident member for each 8 rooms or fraction thereof. House board members  must pass a 75% vote of confidence, serve a single one year term, and may continue to serve until a replacement passes a vote of confidence.
The board meets 4 times a year rotating between the member houses. These meetings provide a forum for board members and co-opers to discuss, problem solve and learn from each other. In addition to the board of directors, UKSHA employs an executive director who serves as a liason between UKSHA and it’s member houses. This person works actively with house members to make sure that things run smoothly.  The houses themselves are responsible for getting repairs get done, dealing with unusual issues, collecting rent, creating budgets and paying the taxes.  The executive director acts on behalf of the interests of the board to insure the houses have the knowledge and tools to accomplish these basic tasks.
